What type of companies do you help?
Our ideal clients are $500k-$5M revenue service businesses in either home services or professional services. We do not work with restaurants, bars, or brick-and-mortar retail stores with extensive inventory.
What QuickBooks Problems Do You Fix?
Some of the top issues I help fix: undeposited funds, uncategorized income, uncategorized expenses, double counted revenue, chart of Accounts, loan/asset issues, 3rd party app integration, personal expenses in QuickBooks, Schedule L doesn’t match QuickBooks, etc.
Why Do New Clients Hire You?
Some of the top reasons are: setting up QuickBooks, cleaning up QuickBooks issues, current bookkeeper isn’t responsive, tax time is stressful due to messy financials, confused by current CPA/accountant, don’t understand financial reports, something doesn’t feel right (i.e. numbers or accountant), bookkeeper doesn’t know the industry, etc.
What else affects pricing? The packages say “starting at.”
The complexity of your finances affect pricing based on numerous factors, including accrual vs cash basis, # of monthly transactions, # of fixed assets, # of employees, # of business loans, job costing, class tracking, KPI tracking, invoicing method, payment methods, tax entity type, etc. Whether your books require cleanup or being brought up-to-date also affects the pricing. You’ll know the pricing upfront before we begin any work.
Which pricing package should I choose?
The pricing packages on our website are for monthly bookkeeping services. Before we recommend which package suits you best, we perform a paid 50-step Diagnostic Review to better understand your bookkeeping needs. Oftentimes, clients need help catching up on bookkeeping from previous months or a detailed cleanup to correct issues first. Both of these affect pricing, but you will know pricing upfront before we begin any work.
Will you work with my CPA or tax preparer?
Yes! We prefer to speak with your CPA/tax preparer when you sign up with us and also keep them in the loop – if you wish. It’s helpful for us to know things like how they want equipment/vehicles depreciated. It’s ok if we get that information at the end of the year as well.
Do you pay bills, send invoices, etc. for clients?
We do not pay bills or send invoices on behalf of our clients. If you prefer a bookkeeping service that does, please consider additional accounting controls and oversight. In other words, it is risky to hire a bookkeeping company that is also able to spend money or collect payments on your behalf. Make sure there are checks and balances to prevent unauthorized activities.
What do I need to send you each month?
We prefer having view-only access to bank and credit card accounts so that we can pull monthly statements ourselves. You can also upload statements to our secure Client Portal instead. Loan statements and other documents may need to be uploaded to our secure Client Portal periodically.
How long does it take to hear back from you?
We reply within one business day 95% of the time. Complex questions may require additional time or a call to discuss further. Oftentimes, we’ll send a short video walk through or step-by-step instructions so you can get what you need faster.
